Remember that picture I shared last week in my latest post showing most of the makeup I’ve bought in the past few months? Well, it’s time to add to the pile and lose even more money, because I went on a rather large Sephora haul this week! It all started with the new Becca Split Pans being released Thursday morning, and I must say, my Jaclyn Hill obsession got the best of me. With my phone out, the Sephora app open, my hopes high, and my wallet prepared to shrink, I was ready to go. Right at their release at 9am, I placed my order and to my surprise, the next day my haul was on my door step.
I bought the Flower Child split pan that was released late and a few other small items which are all coming in a second online order on Monday, but I couldn’t wait to show you my stash of goodies!
Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Splits Shimmering Skin Perfector Mineral Blush Dou: Prosecco Pop and Amaretto.
This was the highlight of my haul this week and the main reason I put in the order in the first place (hah, get it?). Don’t get me wrong, this tiny palette is a beaut but my expectations were probably too high. As soon as I got my hands on it, my fingerprints got all over the gold and mirrored sections of the compact. The edges of the highlighter pan were rigid and bumpy making a close inspection conclude an overall cheaper quality than even one of the other original Becca highlighters I got in the same haul. Adding insult to injury, while taking the filmy protector off the top, the plastic scratched my blush, which has never happened to me before when I’ve taken off makeup covers! All in all, I’m being picky, because it truly is a pretty little item, but after spending $38 on it, I kind of wanted perfection.
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Poured Crème: White Pearl.
How many of the same highlighters does one girl need? Answer: at least two-ish. I already own the Becca Pressed powder in Pearl and am deeply in love with the color, feel, and just consistency of that and pretty much all Becca products. So against my better judgement and my wallet, I decided to give this creamy highlighter a go. With a more gentle, yet dewy shimmer, the Poured Crème gives a lit-from-within glow that I think will be perfect to end the summer with.
Becca Backlight Priming Filter.
Yes, Becca, Becca, Becca: SHINY. Becca has my heart, if you haven’t been able to tell from just this haul. Beyond my addiction to Becca, recently my whole life has been about BB creams and primers; especially ones with a little bit of sparkle in them. From reviews, swatches, and research, I think this is the holy grail I’ve been looking for to even out my skin tone, give me a little bit of shimmer, and a healthy dewy glow. I cannot wait to jump into this one ASAP.
The Estée Edit Flash Illuminator: Spotlight.
I wasn’t kidding when I said my life is all about the dewy sparkle lately. I will buy any face product with a little bit of glittery shine in it. And boy does this baby shine! Reviews claim you can mix this illuminator in with your all over face routine, or even use it alone if you’re ballsy. In my dreams though, I’m hoping that this product ends up working similarly to the Becca primer and I’m interested to see just how well this looks not just on my cheekbones. Here’s to hoping it makes me the disco ball I’ve always been meant to be.
Urban Decay Urban Spectrum Eyeshadow Palette.
With 15 beautiful shades at only $29, this is the steal of the century from Urban Decay. Similarly, when I saw the Gwen Stefani palette on clearance a few weeks ago, I had to buy both at their ridiculously amazing reduced cost. I am in love with all my Naked palettes and trust the quality of UD’s shadows with my life. How could I pass up this deal? I am excited to tap into the two bottom rows of the Spectrum especially, and maybe even start experimenting with some new fun colors and really get out of my comfort zone when it comes to eye makeup. I feel like this is the perfect palette when it comes to color choices, cost, quality, etc. for a beginner like myself!
Too Faced Sketch Marker Liquid Art Eyeliner: Black.
I think in the past year I have finally found the closest to perfect liquid eyeliner that’s out on the market, BUT that won’t stop me from continuing my search for one that’s even better. With a few mixed reviews and the adorable packaging, I am intrigued to try the new, very precise liquid eyeliner marker from Too Faced. Worst case scenario, I have another backup for my purse, or just a fun choice in my regular rotation.
Sephora Collection False Eyelashes: Celebrity.
While deciding to go broke during this latest haul, I threw a new pair of lashes into the cart. Being the trickiest but easily the most poignant and beautiful part of any look (at least in my book), I’m still in the “I’m trying to get this down pat” phase of putting on lashes. I do have a few splurges from Velour Lashes, but when just trying to get the technique down, it’s hard to justify practicing on $3o falsies. I really like the Celebrity style from Sephora and even more, the $10 price tag! They will be the perfect pair to practice with.
Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Shimmering Skin Perfector Slimlight: Pearl.
Obviously I have a sickness when it comes to Becca, highlighters, and basically anything that makes me sparkle. So why not spend $28 on a highlighter in a stick!? Duh. But this really is kind of genius. I think I will enjoy using this item on the inner corners of my eyes, the highlights of my brow bones, and basically anywhere I need a direct spotlight of shimmer. It’ll be easy to store, carry, use, and no worries of it shattering on me. Now if only Becca would announce if this will be in it’s official lineup or not..
Sephora Collection Ultra Shine Lip Gel: Nude Alert, Perfect Nude, Fresh Peach.
The last part of my haul are some really beautifully pigmented, affordable lippies from Sephora. I had tried all these colors on beforehand in the store (I rarely trust my judgement of lip colors online any more) and I am loving each shade more than I remembered. I’ll go more in-depth on this topic and anxiety later, but I really have a problem using my expensive makeup at this point, especially lipglosses that will get worn off after one sip of water (I know this probably doesn’t make sense, bare with me?). So with the great price tag and color pay off, I know these glosses will be my #1 used lip item for quite a while!
And lastly, I got VIB status at Sephora! The bad part: I finally got a card only about a month ago or so. Ooops!
There you have it, my quite large Sephora haul… well, most of what I’ve bought just this week. I hope to review most of the these products after I’ve tried them and keep you all updated on how I like (or dislike) them. Let me know if you guys would be interested in posts like that! I’m feeling so refreshed sharing all this with you guys and ready to blog more, experiment more, and keep just doing more.
