When Life Gives You Too Many Lemons.

Make lemonade! But then you realize you have so many lemons that you can’t possibly make that many batches of lemonade at one time. After that happens, sit surrounded by a whole bunch of lemons and feel sorry for yourself, throw a pity party, and mope around for a few days. Only then can you realize that you can use all those lemons to keep making batches of lemonade for a long time. So get to work.

What I’m trying to say is that I jumped the gun the other day and as it turns out, we’re not moving. We even got the lease in our hands, got our checks ready, until the final part of the email came in. How much money!? How much for the deposit? How many months rent are you asking for? That much for a pet deposit? How many thousands of dollars? What?!

Way to throw us under the bus, guys. With a whole bunch of lemons.

We decided not to go finically bankrupt, break our current lease, spend our hard earned savings we’ve managed to accumulate over the past few years, all for a rented town home. We had to let it go. And it sucked. A lot.

I’m feeling better though, there are so many different ways to make lemonade now. We’ll find a better house, together. Maybe this is my opportunity to go back to school. We won’t have to be as tight on our budget (new phones for both of us!). We both still get to keep our super easy commutes. We get to run out our lease and our credit will stay intact, etc.

I’ll keep my chin up, this adventure just keeps getting crazier.

Cheers,
— Brey

p.s.
those photos are unaltered and completely untouched. isn’t that mind blowing?

  1. When life gives you lemons… Throw the lemons back in life’s face and say: “You know what Life? I didn’t ask for lemons. I ordered an espresso.”
