Q&A Session.

Hey there everyone!

Today’s the day. I’ve been so excited to host this Q&A for the past few days, I can’t wait to get started!
Here’s how (I’m planning) for it all to go down:

Leave your question or note in the ย comments below.
Between 10am and 6pm EST, I’ll pretty much be constantly online reading, answering, and replying.
Please be patient, courteous, and appropriate.

I try to reply to most comments left on any of my posts, Q&A sessions or not. This won’t be too different. But if it is after 6pm though, I cannot promise I’ll reply in a timely mannerย or especially if the question has already been answered.

Let’s get started!
Cheers,
— Brey

  1. Reading through all of the questions already asked and your wonderfully insightful answers has been exquisite, very interesting! ๐Ÿ™‚ I’ve thought since back (close to) when you first started blogging that your site looked professional … very well-crafted! So, since I now have no questions, LOL, I’ll simply say, “Thank you for the Q & A today; wonderful idea!” Actually … it will probably be an attractive idea, drawing in even more readers! I hope so… ๐Ÿ™‚ Blessings!

  2. hi (again)! I am so happy you’re doing this Q&A, I’ve been reading through all the questions and it’s been truly helpful and encouraging! I also saw many people ask for your advice and opinion on their blog. I was wondering if you could do the same for me, I love my blog & it’s coming along, of course I still have LOTS of work to do and ambitions for it. So if you’d let me know what you think or have any advice, i’d truly appreciate it.
    Thank you so much!!

      1. Alright, that one worked, thanks!
I think your blog is adorable, it remind me of mine in a lot of ways. Very clean, fun, bright, so you’re on the right track!
At this point I’d focus on two things now.

Be mindful of the quality of your posts, you’ll always want to get better and grow in your blogging. Try new things, maybe even pick something to learn more about and practice. Quality is more important than quality!

Keep in mind, if you want to grow your followers, it’s all about putting your name out there and reaching out. Commenting, liking, reading and browsing tons of other blogs.

Your blog is so cute and doesn’t “need” too much else. If you’re blogging for the fun of it and just to keep like a journal, than focus on that and enjoy it. If you want your fan base to grow and make more out of it, you’re gonna have to put a lot of time in effort in networking.

I hope that helps and makes sense.

      2. I completely agree, thank you so much. I’ll for sure take those two things and work on them. You’re one of my two favorite bloggers, so I’m kinda fangirling rn lol!
Thanks again & have a blessed day!

  3. I love how your blog looks and the feel that it has! I have been reading through these comments and I love your advice. I will definitely take what I have been reading use use the tips for my blog! I feel like my blog could be better and I want to do whatever I can to make it interesting and to get people to want to visit it. Do you have any advice for my blog and for what I can do to make it look and feel inviting and interesting? Thank you! ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Hey there!
I looked around, and honestly, I liked what I saw. You have a good foundation, you know what you want, have a theme, I can tell you’re creating your own voice as well. You’re off to a great start.

When it comes to feeling inviting and interesting, there are a few things I look for.
      – Consider getting a photo banner. For some reason, that always makes a blog look more professional, really POPS, and gives interest to people right off the bat.
      – On your home page, to the right, you have your little intro in your side bar. I’d advice you to maybe post more about yourself there, not your blog. Mention your name, where you are in life, your favorite place you visited, something that is more personable and has people getting to know you as soon as they visit your blog.
Cos the thing is, there are tons of travel and beauty sites. But there’s only one YOU. Always try to engage and connect with your readers as much as possible.
      – On that same note, think about adding more to your side bar. I love when people link their instagrams, or have pictures to view as I scroll around. Again, it adds more color, more interesting stuff, and more you.

But yea, you are off to a great start!

  4. Hello! I just wanted to thank you for liking one of my posts because that led me to your awesome blog! As someone who is pretty new to the committed blogging world, let me congratulate you as all your posts, blog, and your numbers are so impressive to me! Not to mention the fact that you take the time to connect with so many bloggers, especially just through this Q&A.

I have two questions: 1) what have you found to be the most difficult aspect of blogging? and 2) if you have a moment to check out my blog, what feedback do you have? I am so looking forward to reading all you future posts! Thanks for being such an inspiration!

    1. Hey there.
I’ll first answer out of order and talk about your blog. I do have a few comments, feel free to implement them or just ignore them ๐Ÿ™‚

      – The first thing I see is that you are not posting that often. I mean your latest post is 8 months ago at this point. To get some real traction and a following with your blog, I’d advise that you post about 3x week. If that’s way too much, pick another goal, like once a week, and really stick with it.
      – I see that you talk a lot about your life and engagement and diets and so on. But I don’t have a name or a face or anything to go with it all. There’s a huge disconnect because of that. I understand that some bloggers want privacy, so maybe use a pen name and crop your photos to your nose or neck down. But not having anything tangible for readers makes them not as interested.
      – This may be because you don’t have a ton of posts at this point, but I always recommend people to have tabs and categories (like on my blog, Journal/Beauty/Fun/etc). You do have one about your diet, but then tell people to use the search button. Definitely just make that a category and have all your posts under there. Mention your diet in your posts or on your about, not on a whole page.
      – Your blog has a warm, beautiful feel to it, so that’s a GREAT start. But there are ways to make it more inviting. Going along with the disconnected feeling, I would advise you to add more personal touches to your sidebar. Link your Instagram, or create a small bio, even if it’s just a bio about your blog. Have something that draws your reader in and makes them feel invited.

I hope all this made sense and helped!

On to the other question! ๐Ÿ™‚
The most difficult aspect so far for ME, is staying motivated enough to post everyday. I love posting everyday and it definitely helps my stats and my blog to grow. It’s a great way to keep myself on top of things and push myself. But sometimes I’m just tired hehe ๐Ÿ™‚

      1. Thanks for taking the time to look, Brey! You must have been looking at my old blog, “Hidden and Seeking”, as my new blog “newlyweddedwurl.wordpress.com” I post three times a week ๐Ÿ™‚

And I agree about the difficulty of posting often!

      2. Oh no, I’m so sorry haha. Just looked at your new one and it’s already doing everything I said ๐Ÿ™‚ good for you!
I still stand behind having tabs/categories, but other than that, it looks lovely!

  5. What a great idea doing a live Q&A. Sad to have missed it, but I loved reading through the comments. If you have time, I’d love to hear how you find so many WordPress blogs to follow-I’m not impressed by the “suggested” ones and don’t find interesting ones when I search by tag. Thanks!

  6. I’m a little late to this party, sorry about that, I’m on Japan time. I am wondering if you have experienced any problems opening blogs, previewing your posts since joining Bloglovin’? If so, have you found a solution?

    1. I fortunately have not. Have you ever considered starting over and creating a new profile or contacting Bloglovin directly? I am not super savvy when it comes to Internet stuff in general, I wish I could help ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

      1. I have contacted them and they said they are working some technical issues. I just wondered if you were having trouble too. I think it’s an interface problem with WordPress. Super annoying, I’m waiting them out to see if they can fix it.

  7. I am horrible at coming up with questions, so I didn’t comment this morning, but I’ve loved reading everyone else’s questions and your answers! Such a good idea! One thing I really am uncertain about on my blog is my writing voice, but I’m hoping it will form and become more distinctly me over time! And I’m definitely going to add a few of my categories to my menu like you suggested to some other people. I didn’t do that at first because I didn’t know what categories I would have, but I think I can start adding them now! Thanks for all the tips! Feel free to let me know if there’s anything off the top of your head that you think I could be working on!

  11. I seriously started blogging in the last four months. I have found it so helpful and inspiring to read other people’s blogs. Ideas for new posts pop into my head while reading others’ posts. I need to implement the categories though. Being a photographer I have lots of photos to use! Thank you!!
